Statistics say the average person will gain one pound every year after the age of 35, typically around the midsection. An active lifestyle may help you prevent this, but for most people, it is simply the reality that aging means gaining weight. But this doesn’t have to be your reality. If you want to keep your youthfully slender body, liposuction can help you by eliminating your stubborn fat.
There are plenty of liposuction techniques available to you, so here is a list highlighting the benefits of each unique method that Dr. Morales offers.
Traditional Liposuction
This procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia. The treatment area is injected with a fluid to numb it and shrink the blood vessels. Minor incisions are made in the treatment area, and a cannula is inserted for fat removal. The fat is broken up and suctioned out of the body via a high-pressure vacuum. The number and size of areas treated determine the number of incisions and length of treatment. This procedure may last from one to five hours.
Ultrasonic (UAL) and VASERlipo®
This procedure is performed through small incisions that are strategically placed around the target area. Small metal tubes are inserted through the incisions as it releases ultrasonic energy waves that liquefy fat cells. Once they have been broken down, the fat cells are then vacuumed out of the body. This technique preserves other surrounding tissues while achieving a smooth result with rapid healing.
Laser (LAL) and Smartlipo™
Similar to traditional liposuction and UAL techniques, this method is also performed through small incisions that are strategically placed around the target area. Instead of ultrasonic energy waves, however, this method uses laser heat energy to break up and liquefy the surrounding cells. The heat in this technique also tightens the skin in the surgical area and helps to provide smooth results. If you are concerned about sagging skin after the treatment, then this option may be best for your needs.
